Our Advanced Certificates in Performing Arts build upon our 2-Year Conservatory Certificate Programs. Students can apply directly to an Advanced Certificate Program (6 Semesters Total to Completion) or continue into the Advanced Certificate upon graduating from the Conservatory programs with just 2 semesters left to completion. These clock-hour based certificate programs are located at our New York campus.
Students build a standout portfolio and learn to seize professional opportunities through expert career preparation. Graduates from this program can complete their BFA by either spending one additional year on our Los Angeles campus, or continue in our online program. Alternatively, they may enroll in our Fordham University Pathway to finish their BA Degree in NYC. Clock hours earned through AMDA Certificate Program studies are not applicable toward degree completion at the AMDA New York campus.

Our Advanced Performing Arts Certificate programs provide professional conservatory training that prepares you to graduate career and industry ready. First Year students may apply for this program at the beginning of their studies or when they graduate from the Two-Year Conservatory programs. Concentrations are available in Acting, Acting for Camera, Musical Theatre, and Dance. The curriculum in each Advanced Certificate program combines performance-based academic studies with immersion in craft, technique, and business essentials.
Develop your acting skills for stage, film, and television through effective movement, vocal control, and character development. You will use your imagination and explore your inner life to develop your craft. Multiple performance opportunities help you gain industry experience to prepare you for an acting career.
Focus on developing your acting skills for film, television, and new media. You will complement your training by creating professional-level projects, including a short film capstone project, producing and staging multimedia performances, creating a professional reel, and performing in front of industry professionals.
Build upon a foundation of classical technique with the repertoire needed for today’s theatrical productions. Not only will you perfect your dance techniques, you will also develop your singing, musical theatre, and acting skills. Through instruction and performance opportunities, you will be ready to enter the competitive performing arts industry with confidence.
You will be immersed in multi-arts training that includes developing your musical style, dance genres, and acting techniques. Throughout your program, you will display your developing skills through performance, culminating in a final original showcase production.
