A balanced diet fuels the brain and body, enhancing cognitive function, concentration, and endurance. Proper nutrition provides the necessary nutrients for optimal brain development and energy levels, enabling students to absorb information effectively and perform at their best. Prioritizing nutrition isn't just about health; it’s a strategic advantage for anyone looking to excel in their studies and beyond.

In addition, there are numerous coffee shops, restaurants, delis, specialty food shops and supermarkets located around all the campus buildings.
We also have multiple vending machines with grab-n-go options such as ramen, power bars, snacks, fruit juices, and emergency toiletries around the campus and the residential halls.
Given that so much of your day is physically and mentally demanding, it is vital to make sure you are having nourishing meals and snacks. If you eat balanced meals, you will get the essential nutrients, vitamins and minerals you need as a performer. Here at AMDA, we aim to provide programs on topics related to health and nutrition. For example, each semester, AMDA provides free optional nutrition sessions with a nutritionist. Reach out to NYHealth@amda.edu for more information!

AMDA recognizes that being a student in higher education can be stressful - and costly - and being hungry may only add on to the stress. We have solutions to ease these concerns: NY's Supplemental Food Plan and LA's Flexible Food Plan.
