The AMDA GAP Program offers young adults (ages 18-29) a culturally immersive performing arts education in the heart of New York City. Students study acting, movement, improvisation, and performance.  Guided by AMDA's world-class faculty, participants develop their craft while gaining insights into the entertainment industry. Through individual and ensemble work, students experience personal growth and artistic transformation in one of the world's most vibrant cities.

3 Week Program

In the 3-week Summer programs students explore areas like acting, movement, and audition techniques, gaining a thorough introduction to the craft. The program culminates in a film shoot and final performance in New York City, while also fostering discipline, building skills, and offering auditions for AMDA College of the Performing Arts.

8 Week Program

This immersive 8-week Fall program builds on everything offered in our 3-week program—and so much more! Dive deeper into your craft with exciting courses like stage combat, screenwriting, and self-tape techniques, all while enjoying ample time to explore and connect with the vibrant energy of the city.

Performing Arts

This program offers comprehensive training in acting, movement, improvisation, vocal performance and more! Under the guidance of AMDA’s world-class faculty, students develop their craft, gain industry insights, and build confidence through individual and ensemble-based work.

New York

When you attend AMDA New York, Broadway is your backyard. The city sets the scene for an innovative learning experience, and you become a vital part of the creative community.

Our programs are open to all passionate students between 18-29 years old at time of enrollment.

International Students

AMDA's High School Programs represent a diverse community of creative artists with students and alumni representing multiple countries. We welcome and embrace cultural diversity. Non-US citizens should enter the US with a tourist visa or visa waiver to attend AMDA’s High School Conservatory On Campus programs.

What to Expect

Program Experiences

AMDA’s Gap Program provides a transformative educational experience in a conservatory training environment. Designed for passionate and driven students, the program offers rigorous training in the performing arts alongside opportunities to connect with like-minded peers. Participants engage in intensive classes emphasizing audition preparation, technique development, and performance. With opportunities to audition for AMDA College, the program helps refine your craft, strengthen collaboration skills, and gain valuable real-world experience. The experience culminates in a final presentation and film shoot, showcasing your growth and artistry.

Students will have the opportunity to audition in-person during the program, with the opportunity to gain experience and possibly gain acceptance to AMDA College of the Performing Arts!

The AMDA Gap experience includes cultural activities on select days throughout the program, designed to immerse students in the vibrant energy and rich heritage of New York City. These activities provide a firsthand opportunity to explore and embrace the city’s unparalleled culture and history. From iconic landmarks like the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty to world-class museums and other cultural gems, each experience enriches the journey, offering a deeper connection to the artistic and cultural heartbeat of the city.

With New York City’s unparalleled array of live theater, we are thrilled to immerse our students in the magic of the stage. From dazzling Broadway productions to intimate Off-Broadway performances, students will experience the very best of NYC’s vibrant theater scene. We'll be seeing several shows throughout the duration of the program, offering a dynamic and enriching glimpse into the artistry and creativity that define the city’s world-renowned performing arts community.
