New York Orientation

"One belongs to New York instantly, one belongs to it as much in five minutes as in five years." -Tom Wolfe

The Admissions Office wants to ensure you are well prepared for registration and orientation. Please make sure to read through the Orientation Guide. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to contact the admissions office.

First-Year Student Housing

To support student success, well-being, and community engagement, AMDA requires all first-year students, defined as students in their first and second semesters of enrollment, to reside in AMDA-approved on-campus housing. Students who live in campus housing during their first-year, experience stronger academic engagement, increased sense of belonging, greater access to support resources, and improved retention outcomes. If you need to request a disability related exemption please use this form. For non-disability related exemptions use this form.

Fall 2026

Required Enrollment Information

All enrollment forms must be submitted by orientation. You can find the list of your outstanding documents in the Student Portal. If you have any questions, please reach out to your AMDA Admissions Advisor.

Health & Wellness Forms

AMDA's two Health and Wellness forms can be found in your Student Portal. Both forms are required in order for you to begin classes.

  • The Student Health Certificate can be completed by the student, if under 18 years old a parent or guardian will need to sign the form. This form is to collect your health insurance information, emergency contact information and general health history.

  • The Physician Health Certificate needs to be completed by a Physician. This form will collect your vaccination history and serve as a pre-admissions physical to ensure you are able to safely participate in the program and attend classes.

Program-Specific Tasks

Two-Year Integrated Program: Individual Voice Assessment

This assessment will be used by our Voice Department to place you with an individual voice instructor that best meets your background and experience during Orientation. Deadline to complete the assessment is Friday, September 18th, 2026.

All other programs do not have any tasks required prior to orientation activities.

Parent & Family Resources

This resource section is dedicated to supporting the interests of AMDA parents and families, and to promoting a sense of community for parents and families. We consider you a part of the AMDA family too, and we are eager to answer questions and provide information as your student makes the adjustment to higher education.

We encourage parents and families to familiarize themselves with the many resources at AMDA; the departments listed below will be more than happy to assist in answering your questions.
